Osteopathy
Tailbone pain from a slip or a long car journey — what osteopathy can reasonably offer, and when imaging is needed.

Sitting becomes a negotiation. A fall onto ice or a poorly angled car seat is a common start. Pain can also follow childbirth. It is local, sharp, and people perch on one buttock.
I assess the lumbar spine, hips and pelvic floor tension as neighbours, not only the coccyx. Internal techniques are not something I do in this clinic. Seating advice and gentle osteopathy to neighbouring joints can help some people.
Inability to sit at all after high-energy trauma, bowel changes, or unexplained swelling needs a GP or A&E. Do not wait for an osteopathy slot.
This article is general information for people considering care at Health at Hart in Hartley Wintney. It is not a diagnosis, a prescription, or a promise of outcome. If you have sudden, severe or unexplained symptoms — including chest pain, unexplained weight loss, night pain, bowel or bladder changes, or a new neurological problem — seek urgent medical advice (NHS 111 or 999). UK osteopaths are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council. Counsellors named here are BACP-registered where stated. Always check with your GP or insurer if you are unsure whether a treatment is appropriate for you.
