What our clients say
Words from people who have seen the team at the Old Post Office — osteopathy with Steve Hall, then acupuncture, physiotherapy and counselling.
Osteopathy & Cranial Osteopathy
Steve Hall

“Steve is an excellent osteopath who focuses on treating the whole body. He actively listens to what you have to say and treats your problems holistically, focusing on the root cause as well as the affected area. My monthly ‘MOT’ is essential to my well-being, and I walk out of his treatment room with a body that moves with ease. Steve provides much needed advice on what could be causing the problems so that you can help yourself until your next visit.”
“Steve is great. I usually walk, stumble or hobble into my appointment half broken and leave a new person, no longer in pain. He is thorough, takes his time and makes sure he gets to the bottom of the issue. Thank you Steve, you are amazing!”
“Always a great service from Steve, emphasising a whole-person, patient-centred approach. Highly recommend!”
“I first went to Steve with pain in my shoulder when I lifted my arm. I had seen the GP multiple times and kept being told my shoulder was overworked and that I needed time off work. After getting frustrated that the pain was not going away, Steve was recommended by a family member. He sorted the issue on the first visit within an hour after months of GP appointments, and explained why I was experiencing the pain. I have seen him regularly since, as I have spinal alignment issues due to my job, and I always feel the difference after every visit.”
“I had been putting up with a stiff neck from the commute. Steve took a proper history, treated the upper back as well as the neck, and gave me two things to change in the car. I sleep on that side again.”
“Sciatica had me pacing at 3am. Steve did not promise a miracle. He explained what he was looking for, treated me carefully, and I was walking the dog again within a fortnight.”
“Pregnancy made my pelvis feel unreliable. The osteopathy was gentle, unhurried, and I left knowing what was reasonable to still do in the garden.”
“I come in after a heavy week at the desk. Steve’s monthly sessions keep me from that Sunday-night tightness turning into a week off.”
“After a fall I was frightened to turn over in bed. Steve worked at a pace I could trust and was honest about when I still needed the GP.”
“A locked back from lifting a suitcase. I was seen promptly, treated without drama, and given a first-week plan that was not ‘just rest’.”
“Jaw pain and headaches had been written off as stress. Steve looked at the neck properly. I still see my dentist; I also leave the Old Post Office able to chew breakfast.”
“Hip stiffness on the stairs. Osteopathy has not grown me new cartilage, and Steve never claimed it would. I walk further than I did in March.”
“Cranial osteopathy for my baby was explained without overselling. Gentle, unhurried, and I was never made to feel silly for asking questions.”
“Gardening did my lumbar spine in every April. Steve treats the flare and talks about how I actually lift the compost. Practical, not preachy.”
“I was nervous about osteopathy. Steve talked me through what he was doing. I have been back for three years.”
“Frozen shoulder was wrecking sleep. Not a one-session fix — Steve said that up front — but I can reach the seatbelt again.”
“The clinic is calm, the High Street is easy, and Steve remembers what we did last month. That continuity matters when you are older.”
“Running into a niggle, then ignoring it, then panicking. Steve sorted the back contribution and sent me to Deborah for the tendon. That is how a proper clinic should work.”
“Postnatal neck from feeding. Osteopathy plus a frank conversation about pillows. I wish I had booked sooner.”
“Long-haul flight, then a week of lumbar misery. Steve got me moving without making me feel I had been foolish to sit still for eleven hours.”
“Headaches that started at the base of the skull. Treated as a neck problem, not a personality problem. I still have a GP for the rest.”
“A rib that grabbed after a winter cough. Odd, painful, and gone after a couple of careful sessions.”
“I take blood thinners. Steve asked, adapted, and did not make a fuss. I felt safe, which is the point.”
“DIY decorating did my neck. I expected a lecture. I got treatment and a shorter ladder.”
“Later-life stiffness. Steve is kind without being patronising. I still walk to Waitrose.”
“A disc bulge on a scan had frightened me. Steve translated it into English and treated what I actually had, not the worst picture on Google.”
“Sacroiliac pain after a second baby. Gentle work, clear advice, no drama about ‘putting things back’.”
“I have been coming since the clinic opened in the village. The standard has stayed high even as the team has grown.”
“Whiplash after a bump on the M3. Assessed properly, treated steadily, and I was told what would have been an A&E problem. That honesty is rare.”
“Golf was wrecking my lumbar spine. Steve treated the back and was blunt about my follow-through. Fair.”
“Teenager, screens, a tired neck. Steve spoke to my son like a person. We left with a plan, not a scare.”
“Standing desk done badly. Steve found the thoracic stiffness I had blamed on ‘getting old’.”
“After a caesarean I did not know if osteopathy was allowed. Steve waited for the wound to be happy, then helped the pulling scar and the feeding posture.”
“A walking stick felt like giving up. Steve treated the hip and talked about pride. I use the stick on cobbles now, and I still go out.”
“Night pain that was not my usual spasm. Steve sent me to the GP first. That is why I trust him when he says we can treat the rest.”
“Heat versus ice arguments in our house are over. Steve was specific. The flare settled.”
“Coccyx pain after a fall on ice. Not glamorous. Treated carefully. I can sit through a meeting again.”
“I work hybrid and the dining chair was the mechanism. Osteopathy plus a ruthless look at the furniture. My neck has quietened down.”
“Menopause joint aches on top of an old back. Steve did not dismiss either. I leave moving better and less frightened of the next flare.”
“The first week after a flare used to be me ‘testing it’ in the garden. Steve’s aftercare is boring and it works.”
Acupuncture & Cupping

“Menopause had wrecked sleep. Acupuncture did not replace HRT decisions with my GP. It did help me drop off more easily after a few sessions.”
“First acupuncture appointment was 90 minutes and unhurried. Needles finer than I feared. I slept in the chair.”
“Cupping after a long ride. Marks as advertised, tightness eased, no folklore about toxins. Exactly what I wanted.”
“Hay fever Junes in Hampshire. I keep the antihistamines. Kyla’s sessions in the run-up take the edge off the fog.”
“Digestive discomfort that followed stress. Honest about what needed a GP first. The treatment is a calm hour I look forward to.”
“Migraines I already had diagnosed. A course of acupuncture reduced the frequency. I still have the preventer.”
“Shonishin for my daughter was needle-free, short, and stopped the moment she said no. That is how it should be.”

“Achilles pain that stretching had made worse. Deborah loaded it properly, used shockwave as an extra, and I am running minutes again rather than guessing.”
“Knee replacement aftercare. She followed the surgical protocol, got the quads working, and did not humour my plan to play 90 minutes in week six.”
“Netball landing gone wrong. Clear stages, hop tests, and I was not cleared just because the team was short.”
“Thirty years of experience shows. Ankle sprain that still felt wobbly six months later is finally trustworthy on gravel.”
“Plantar fascia first-step pain for months. Loading, calf work, shockwave. Not a gadget on its own — a plan.”
“Falls had made me timid on the High Street. Balance work that looked too simple and mattered a great deal.”
“Rotator cuff that hated the back seat of the car. Graded loading, honest timelines, laser as an extra when it fitted.”
“Prehab before hip surgery. I went in stronger. The weeks after were less of a cliff.”

“The free introductory call meant I was not buying a session to find out if I could stand the sound of someone’s voice. The work has been steady, confidential, and not a pep talk.”
“Workplace stress had become a Sunday dread. Katie is not HR. I could tell the truth without it leaving the room.”
“After a health diagnosis I needed somewhere the fear could sit. Counselling beside the medical care, not instead of it.”
“Panic in the supermarket. We mapped it. I still shop. That felt impossible in January.”
“Midlife, too many roles, a 2am ‘is this it’. Integrative counselling that followed me rather than a worksheet.”

“Exam pressure had become a stomach every morning. Gia worked with our child and with us, without adding another tutor.”
“Neurodiversity, a long waiting list, and a lot of shame. Gia did not try to make anyone ‘less autistic’. Life at home is less punishing.”
“I did not want to talk. Gia did not force a performance. The hour became usable.”
“The jump to secondary was a cliff. Short-term work around the transition, and we did not wait until October.”

“Burnout that rest did not touch. Jamie let me tell the truth without a performance review. Early mornings in the diary actually helped.”
“I booked late, like a lot of men. No lecture about opening up. A straightforward hour that I have kept.”
“Grief arrived months after the funeral. Jamie made room for it without a timetable.”
“Online on Teams when I could not get to the village. Still a real session. We agreed what to do if the call dropped.”
