Some people arrive wanting a click. Some cannot bear to be moved. Newborns and the very sore often need the quieter door. A gardener with a locked lumbar spine may need more familiar mobilisation — once it is safe.

What we can do in clinic

I am not two different osteopaths. Cranial osteopathy is a refined way of listening to the same body. Structural work is more obvious to the person on the couch. We choose for the day in front of us, not for a brand.

Red flags and when to see your GP

Neither approach treats cancer, cauda equina or a fracture. If the presentation is medical, the technique debate can wait.
