People stand still for three hours and wonder why their feet and lumbar spine complain. Standing is not automatically virtuous. Change is.

What we can do in clinic

Alternate. Soften the knees. Raise the screen. A small footrest to shift weight helps some. I treat what the experiment did to you, then we refine the experiment.

Red flags and when to see your GP

Calf swelling on one side while standing all day — think DVT risk factors and call a GP if it is hot, tight or you are breathless.
