Loyalty binds. Two bedrooms. Anger at the “wrong” parent. A child who has become the messenger. Adults who want me to take a side.
I am not a court reporter. I offer the young person a place that is not either kitchen. Parent work, when it happens, is about how to be less of a war. If there is a safeguarding issue, that changes the frame and I will say so.
Domestic abuse, or a child who is not safe in a house — police and social care, not a mediation fantasy.
