Symptoms and what they can mean

People arrive having done months of heel drops on a step because a forum said so. Sometimes it helped. Sometimes they have a reactive tendon they have been picking at.

What we can do in clinic

We choose isometric, isotonic or heavier loads based on irritability, not a 2001 paper alone. Your sport decides the end stage.

Red flags and when to see your GP

If pain is not a tendon — referred from the back, for example — loading the calf forever will fail. That is why we assess.
