Counselling

Ending therapy well

What this can look like

You feel better and you are tempted to simply not book. Or you feel worse and you want to leave without saying why. Both are common. Neither has to be the last chapter.

How counselling can help

Endings deserve a few sessions, not a cancelled text. We review what changed, what remains, and how you will notice if you need to return. You can stop. I would rather you stopped in the room.

When it is more than counselling

If you leave because you are in crisis, please tell someone who can help today — GP, 111, 999 — not only an empty diary.

This article is general information for people considering care at Health at Hart in Hartley Wintney. It is not a diagnosis, a prescription, or a promise of outcome. If you have sudden, severe or unexplained symptoms — including chest pain, unexplained weight loss, night pain, bowel or bladder changes, or a new neurological problem — seek urgent medical advice (NHS 111 or 999). UK osteopaths are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council. Counsellors named here are BACP-registered where stated. Always check with your GP or insurer if you are unsure whether a treatment is appropriate for you.
