Counselling

What happens in integrative counselling?

Katie Green, BACP-registered counsellor, on integrative therapy for adults 18+ at Health at Hart — and why there is a free 30-minute introductory call.

Integrative means tailored, not mixed-up

No single school of therapy fits every person. Integrative counsellors draw on more than one approach so the work can follow you — how you think, what you feel, and what has happened in your life. Sessions are 50 minutes. I am a BACP-registered member and I work with adults 18+.

The first conversation is not the first bill

I offer a free 30-minute introductory telephone call so you can hear how I work and decide if it feels like a fit. Therapy asks for trust. You should not have to buy a session to find out whether you can stand the sound of my voice.

Confidentiality

What you say stays in the room, with the usual legal and safety limits I will explain at the start — risk of harm, safeguarding, and the rare situations in which I would have to share information. That conversation is part of professional counselling, not small print.

Always check with your GP or insurer if you are unsure whether a treatment is appropriate for you.
