Wanting to talk and fearing it will leave the room. Family who ask “what did she say”. Employers who think therapy notes are theirs.
What you say stays here, with the legal and ethical exceptions I name at the start: serious harm, safeguarding, and the rare court situations. I do not chat about you in the waiting room. Other practitioners in this building do not get a summary unless you ask.
If I did have to share information, I would usually try to tell you first. Immediate danger is still 999.
